Why does college go by so fast
But congratulations on graduating!! Best of luck to you! Another chapter begins — the rest is still unwritten, as they say…. This is how I felt this time last year! Best of luck as you move into the world beyond the formal classroom. Your greatest challenge now will be when, how and where you continue learning, and what you do with the knowledge you gather and choose for yourself.
I also recently finished college and graduated last April 1. I had the same feelings, leaving the building I used to frequent, take classes for 8 hours a day. I used to stay at that building for hours, more than the hours spent at home. And now, we leave. As an almost graduate, I understand your sentiments exactly. It seems like I just got comfortable here!
Best of luck! This is exactly how I feel about college. And it was a bit anti-climactic: I turned in a final, and that was it. I remember too walking very slowly back to my car just taking it all in and remembering moments I had around campus. I remember well what that realization felt like I graduated in All the best to you! I too am graduating college this semester.
Where did all the time ago? Your last paragraph about sums up how I feel too. Congratulations on graduation and Freshly Pressed, and good luck in the future! I remember feeling the same way when I completed my schooling. It can be frightening, but it is also exhilarating too! Enjoy your new freedom from school! Such a milestone. One day you will look back on your college days as some of the best in your life. Utilize your resources for finding that job! Congrats on your accomplishment and for making Freshly Pressed.
Now begins the real rest of your life. The school days are but a memory; interesting blog! The day I left my college, I said my last goodbyes by the huge wide open gate..
Never thought that I will be just back after I got hired there.. Sweet memories.. M studying now in a new place.. Believe it or not, I treasure every moment here and there Feel sweet to recall even the painful, hectic days.. I love school and work.. They made the new of me.. I am sort of in the same position.
You have to remember that the only person who is considering you first, you as 1 is YOU. Make your decisions based on that. Whenyou go home at night, you are the only person responsible for you, so thinking of how your decisions affect others is not important if they are The Best for You! The only bright side is you can do what you feel in your heart and gut is best for you, that will take you in the direction of your goals, without having someone to tell, oh no do this instead.
Congrats, and good luck! Great Freshly Pressed piece!!! How scary! Be optimistic:D. Congratulations, College Graduate! I know exactly how you feel. After a few years in corporate marketing, I went back to school to get certified as a teacher. How does it feel to be in the teacher role? Very different. God speed. I wish you the best! Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed! The road ahead of you is long, but bright. Welcome to adulthood!
Congrats to you on graduation and freshly pressed! I graduated three years ago and am now blogging about closing in on 25— eesh! AND not having schoolwork to do every weeknight! Have fun, and good luck! I just graduated in December and can completely relate! AND you got freshly pressed?
Congratulations on graduating college and good luck on setting off on your journey outside of college. Enjoy it! This is a great time in your life, go out and have some fun. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. If not, Google him. And that was just a blink ago. I remember that feeling! Congratulations on this exciting time in your life! It will rejuvenate you to come back and do great work.
When I finished school, I had already decided that I was moving to a new city. I had all of the arrangements made and I moved about 3 days after completing school. I just wished I cherished it more. Your post brought tears to my eyes as I remembered my last days of college, I graduated in and the time since then has flown by much the same.
Good Luck on your next adventure and do not forget to give yourself a little break before breaking into full time adulthood! Hey I emphatise with you. Great post! I terribly miss my college days and how I wish it could go back in time. I just came across your blog from the WordPress main page. We could be joining a new club that interests us, or waking up at the crack of dawn to study; both being scenarios we would have never pictured ourselves in a year or two ago, but yet here we are.
On top of this, we are constantly meeting new people at parties or the lounge of our dorms, keeping our social life fresh and appealing. And one more thing. Many students at Albion College have an extra activity on their plates: sports. Meetings, practices, and workouts are just a few of the things that athletes go through on a day-to-day basis on campus.
Yes, doing all of this is great, but why does it actually make time go faster than usual? When we are constantly doing homework, working out, or taking the little free time we have to take a nap, the only thing we are not thinking about is time. Most of us are moving a mile-a-minute 6 out of 7 days in the week, focusing on anything and everything except how slow time is going sitting in class may be the only exception.
Visiting other colleges and taking spontaneous trips home just contribute more to how fast college passes. Professors may not formally take roll, but they are still likely to know whether or not you attended, especially at smaller colleges where they will get to know you. They will check your completed homework. COLLEGE: Professors expect you to utilize the course syllabus outline ; which spells out exactly what is expected of you, when it is due and how you will be graded.
It's up to you to read and understand the assigned material; lectures and assignments are based on the assumption that you've already done so. Professors may not always check completed homework, but they will assume you can perform the same tasks on tests. COLLEGE: Professors are usually open and helpful, but expect and want you to attend their scheduled office hours if you need assistance.
Students will also have resources like an Academic Skills Center or Writing Center at their disposal should they need it. You may study outside of class as little as 2 hours a week, and this may be mostly test preparation. You need to study at least 2 to 3 hours outside of class for each hour in class to keep up with the coursework. Teachers frequently conduct review sessions, pointing out the most important concepts.
Like most people, I just kind of blew this off thinking the toughest four years were ahead of me. I came to college never experiencing so much free time in my life. Going to a Prep school during my high school years I was accustomed to waking up early, driving an hour to school, spending all day in classes and practice, and then back home to do my homework.
Before I knew it each night, it was time to go to bed and then wake up to repeat that same routine. College was a significant change for me in every aspect of life. I went from being booked solid from early morning to late night every day in high school to having as little as two hours worth of classes in a day in college.
