Quote what does it mean to be human
Or the college kid who deals drugs out of his dorm room so that he'll have cash to finance his spring break? Who should we fear?
The kid in the 'hood who joined a gang and now carries a gun for security, because his neighborhood is frightening and unsafe? Or the suburban high school student who has a drinking problem but keeps getting behind the wheel?
Our racially biased system of mass incarceration exploits the fact that all people break the law and make mistakes at various points in their lives with varying degrees of justification. Screwing up-failing to live by one's highest ideals and values-is part of what makes us human. Or a different sort of analogy: it is good for human beings to have language, but one is no less human if one's language is French rather than Mandarin Chinese, or Sign rather than English. Or yet another: a child, once she exists, is a unique good, but prior to coming into being, she was not necessary.

Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. Without them, humanity cannot survive. It is the consequence of humanity. World belongs to humanity. There are millions and millions of people doing wonderful things all over the world, and they're generally not the ones being touted in the news. They just love what they're doing, and they love it in front of others.

It's the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth. The most important thing is that we are able to be one-to-one, you and I with each other at the moment. If we can be present to the moment with the person that we happen to be with, that's what's important.
We listen with more than our ears. Nobody knows what you're thinking or feeling unless you share it. All you have to do is think and they'll grow. And hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are.
